I prefer the bright colors and shapes of the Pacific Rim because I crave those colors the way another person would seek out comfort food. Perhaps because of the play of sunlight on the sea and the overlapping shapes of exotic foliage, I am fascinated by the sense of movement, the effect that layering has on color and light, and how texture can be used as another color.
